Flowers

It's 7 weeks until we get married - I'm starting to get mildly panicked now - time is just flying by. We have been doing a lot of the last minute planning for the wedding hence the absence from the blog. Not only that we have also decided to move house - my mum thinks were crazy, we probably are but how amazing would it be to start our married life in a new home.

Anyhow I will be posting more things about our wedding over the next couple of weeks - like the decorations (my mum and one of my best friends helped a lot with that) cake, band and lots of other bits and pieces that I never even thought about until the last minute.

We visited a florists a couple of weekends ago - we found a really beautiful place called 'The walled garden at Mells' (just outside Frome nr Bristol). Matt picked it which is surprising as it's usually the girl that's interested in the flowers, I soon discovered the real reason for him picking it, it has a little outdoor cafe with a pizza oven so whilst perusing the wedding flower books you can be troffing on pizza - now I get his sudden interest in flowers! Pizza oven aside the place is beautiful it's like a mini little oasis filled with beautiful, seasonal wild flowers it has little hidden nooks and crannies where you can took away and pretend you are relaxing in your own garden. As for the flowers for our wedding we have decided to have seasonal local grown flowers and were given lots of info and ideas from Jodie the florist she was great and really understood what we wanted even though we weren't even sure ourselves.

I am very excited about the flowers I was originally going to have ago at doing them all myself - but soon realised that it would be a pretty large task and would have to be done the day before the wedding to ensure the flowers were fresh and plus I don't have a clue about creating Bouquets - I wouldn't want them falling apart coming down the Isle. So Jodie is doing the 2 big displays my bouquet and the bridesmaids plus 7 button holes. She is also providing lovely odd fashioned jugs and lots of bucket flowers for us to arrange in the morning of the wedding which I don't mind doing - we are going for a just picked look with twine wrapped around very simple and very pretty. The quote was very reasonable and we are very happy with our order that will be delivered on the Saturday morning of the wedding what more can we ask for! We will definitely visiting there again. You can also get married in a barn there which I will post about in the future.
